Our Story

Welcome to Hidden Oaks

More Than an RV Park. A Destination.

Set along US-190 in Hammond, Louisiana, Hidden Oaks Campground sits on a stretch of shady oaks with an 8-acre fishing lake at its heart and a sandy beach right on the Tangipahoa River. It's the kind of place where you can pull in, level up, and be casting a line or wading into the river within the hour. We're open year-round, so whether you're here for a long winter stay or a summer weekend, there's always a spot under the trees waiting.

Days here move at their own pace. Mornings tend to start quiet with coffee by the water, and afternoons fill up with the pool, the playground, and golf carts humming along the trails. The 7,000 square foot pavilion is where the campground comes together for gatherings, and the nature trails give you plenty of room to wander. Between the campground store, laundry, propane, and three bathhouses, the practical stuff is handled so you can spend your time outside.

We welcome all ages, and it shows. Families come for the beach and the lake, retirees settle in for longer stays, and weekenders show up with fishing poles and folding chairs. Some guests stay in RVs, some in our lake cabins or private cabin, and some pitch a tent at a primitive site with nothing but the sound of the river. Come see which one fits you, and we'll save you a place in the shade.

We booked for 2 nights as we we're working in the area and chose to extend our stay here for 1 more night instead of heading to our next job location early. The free roaming peacocks and their babies were so awesome! The goats that LOVE head scratches were amazing!!!! Awesome place to stay! If in the area again, this is where we will book!

Nick was a wonderful host. We didnt have a 50 amp adapter for our Cruise America rental. We called and he drove an adapter over to us in 2 minutes to borrow. Very nice ! Great Guy too 🙏 Went swimming in the pool and met the wild peacocks roaming all over the grounds. We saw 8 of them. Beautiful scenery, a beach with white sand and gorgeous creeks. Definitely coming back on our return home !

Wow what a true campground! This is what I remember in the days of yore. It’s raining and someone still stops to ask if you need help. A front desk that saw you parked late the night before and didn’t want to bother your weekend the next morning; just said thanks for coming out when I checked with them the next day. Trees galore, clean grounds and site, a long full beach on the river. To top it all off they have the best price in the area and are close to everything. This is what camping should be. Not pavement galore and nickel and dime everything. Thank you Hidden Oaks for letting me share with my family what camping was like when I was their age.

We had another fantastic time at Hidden Oaks Campground, and it already feels like our go-to spot! This place has everything a family need for fun. It is so outdoorsy, very open, and really pretty—getting to see the peacocks wander around is always a treat! Those beautiful large oak trees provide great shade for campers and hanging out. It's a peaceful, clean, and welcoming place that my family found to be the perfect escape, especially when relaxing in the in-ground pool after a day outdoors, and the fishing is great, and the staff was incredibly helpful! Children can play and wander safely while enjoying the sandy beach on the Tangipahoa River

The staff here are terrific and the cabins are great. You know that you're staying at a five star 🌟 camp ground when you visit with the other campers and their local customers.

Diana was very helpful in answering our questions for an unexpected family gathering and baptism too! The roads are easy to navigate. The designated beach area are clean and very inviting! Our children are excited to return with more friends from homeschool and our church as well!

We stayed 1 night while passing through. The website was very easy to book on. Full hookups were conveniently placed for each site. They advertise many amenities we just didn't have time to use. It was one of the nicest campgrounds we've stayed in. I'd love to return and spend some time.

Day of leaving I blew a turbo hose. Came back to the campground and was treated with nothing but kindness. Allowed me to hook camper back up for my wife and dog while I worked on truck. One of the ladies in the red mustang even brought me to parts store to get my new hose. Always was one of my favorite places.
